IndigoDirae | I figured this was one for the 'roids board, given the in-depth analysis provided by certain sky-rocks. LA has had 20 quakes along the Whittier fault alone within the past 12 hours - 23:00 PST to 11:00 PST - ranging from 2.0 - 4.0. Anyone able to shed some light on what's going on? Logic says that a long series of smaller magnitude helps take the pressure off of a potentially devastating larger. But what does astro say? -A.

BlackSeraph | Did a quick check, winding down for the night so I'll have to double-check later when I have more time... The first quake I think I have charted for Yorba Linda, CA... Possible Fist of God/Thor's Hammer aspect with Saturn Apex from Chiron/Jupiter square. Very weak Boomerang Yod/Yod Kite given orbs spanning 2 deg for aspects, with Pompeja in 5th house Leo apex being focused by Vesuvius (12th house Pisces)/Vulcano (10th house Capricorn) Sextile, with Atlantis (11th house Aquarius) pulling the string of the bow opposite Pompeja. Los Angeles may have dodged a bullet is my guess. However, I also did a quick check of transits for September 19th, 2012, which is the next exact Uranus/Pluto Square... Typhon on that date completes a T-Square with Uranus and Pluto. Pluto will also trine Pompeja on that day. For some reason, I think I've picked up from the aether the dates from September 11th, 2012 to September 23, 2012 as being a key timeframe to watch. I believe some place will be experiencing a heavy seismic event, but I'm not entirely certain it will be LA... but I would watch the central valley in California, as that was close to where the May 20th Solar Eclipse passed over. Also watch Japan, maybe Hawaii would be my guess. I have no astrology for those besides the Eclipse path though, just my gut feeling. As always, I'll be perfectly content with being wrong Edit: Come to think of it, I think I heard something about a fire being fought near a refinery around ... northern California just this week? Dad told me about that but I haven't checked the news as much as normal. That was very close if not under the Eclipse path as well, so this doesn't sound entirely seismic either. Keeping fingers crossed that they take all precautions with Diablo Canyon nuclear power plant during this time. (I thought they shut down most if not all of the units there though due to a ... jellyfish problem? I thought I read about that earlier too, and if that's the case, that may be another bullet to be dodged). |
athenegoddess | I'm away from the shore now.. I don't want to be near there if and when something happens. |
BlackSeraph | Curiously, apparently a local university nearby (forget if it was CalTech or UCLA or whatever it was), apparently found it was able to predict these current quakes... the first one by 9 seconds, the next one not so well at 4 seconds. Also looked into the Diablo Canyon thing. Apparently it was jellyfish-like creatures (skag? or skal? something like that), back in April of this year, and they reduced activity, not full shutdown. But still...) I also haven't heard of any more tremors in that spot, and apparently it was like 5 miles deep anyways. Maybe nothing more happens in that spot...? Still, I'd be cautious but still go about my business. Personally, I'd be more concerned about wildfires in that general area. Hasn't it been very dry out that way? |

Thank you for sharing. I did not hear about that.

Interesting source of 'news'. -A. |
athenegoddess | I don't go to main stream media for my news. I stopped watching CNN long ago... and I used to love it. |

Can I ask why you've chosen to only go to fringe sites? -A. |

I didn't say I 'only go' to anything. |

Oh, good. It's good to go everywhere, rather than limit yourself. Trading one bias for another is just as limiting. -A. |
athenegoddess | Do you like to bicker for no reason? Seems like it. If you don't like the site... do use your free will and ignore. Thanks. |

A, I just figured since you're used to dishing it, you could take it. I assumed correctly, and now I'm dropping it. B, providing a recommendation in the form of, 'go here for news', and saying it's better than mainstream, when you're advocating a fringe site is ... bad information. Anyway you slice it. I voice my opinions, too. -A. |
athenegoddess | What? Do you have something against me? Is there something you want to address? Please do. I hate passive agression. Wow. You have serious misconceptions. If you think mainstream media is good enough. By all means. In that case.. You shouldn't worry about the quakes in LA. |

I've stated it. In this business, you have to rage against what's good information versus bad information. I asked specifically why you choose this over 'mainstream' news; out of curiosity - not to start an argument. Mars is hovering over my Sun/Pluto right now, and I AM very testy. Fair warning. -A.

athenegoddess | Number one YOU think it's bad information and two you probably came to that conclusion without looking completely through the site. I never reject something unless I see it's worth rejecting after much research. Main stream media doesn't cover the important things going on in the world! If you don't know that then I wish you all the luck in the world. |

I was a certified investigator for many years. I wouldn't count that site among my 'trusted sources', is all I'm saying. Your experience may be different, mine has not been positive. The mainstream media will never give you the whole story - I agree. But fringe sites go way, way, overboard. I suggest everything should be taken into account - but that's probably just my being Libran. -A.

BlackSeraph | So I see there haven't been any more 4.5's around there since those two. Anyone think we'll come up with a way to relieve pressure along fault-lines in the next 50 years or so to diminish the possibility of future large quakes? Like a sort of seismic-inhibitor? |

It'd be magnificent, if so. Seems right now we just have to hope for a little-by-little sequence to take off some of the heat. -A.

I honestly don't think we know enough about the tectonic system and how it marries into all the other cycles of our planet to try and take control of it. Trying to ease such pressure and preventing large quakes may be detrimental in the long run. Changing the Earth to accomodate our own comfort is nothing new, and see how things are only worsening. |
